Washington is broken – while families are falling further and further behind, politicians and special interests are cashing in. In order to make actual progress, we need to fix the systems that are failing us. First of all, no one should be profiting from their position in elected office. Kristen worked with both parties to introduce legislation to make it illegal for members of Congress to trade stock or participate in prediction markets where they have insider information.

Next, Kristen is fighting to get big, unlimited money out of politics, leading efforts to reverse Citizens United. Kristen also knows that voters should pick their leaders, not the other way around, so she supports bills to expand Michigan’s anti-gerrymandering practices to the rest of the country. Kristen is not scared to take on special interests, and when members of either party put themselves over our communities, Kristen fights back.
