I know from my own family’s experience what it means to be prescribed drugs that you cannot afford. This is personal for me and so many I speak with across our region. Quality and affordable healthcare in America needs to be a right for everybody, regardless of pre-existing conditions.
In Congress, I will fight to ensure that every American has access to quality health insurance, care, and prescription drugs they can afford. I will expand the Affordable Care Act, allowing more Americans to buy into Medicare and increasing access and affordability. I will take on the big drug companies to cap the price of insulin at $35 a month for everyone and allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices on more prescriptions. And here on the ground, I will work closely with our hospital systems to ensure they get the federal resources they need to provide quality, timely care for all of our residents.
